Mood boards are used in my design process. These help me explore precedent projects, seeing what works, what doesn't and what I like best. Below are examples of my latest hard and soft materials mood boards.

Sketched Layouts

 I have found using simple sketches and bubble diagrams is the best way to understand the limitations of an idea. Ruff drawings like this are quick to edit and refine and help me progress a design from a concept to a proposal.

Conceptual Sketches

5 Minute Sketches

 I challenged myself to draw a variety of flowers in 5 minutes using a ballpoint pen. The aim of this exercise was to practice drawing a variety of textures.

Spring Bulbs

Back in November I prepared a bulb lasagna and placed it on my windowsill.

Four months later, the first flowers can be seen springing into life. This low-maintenance planting technique ensures an extended season of interest for patio planters.
