Alney Island Nature Reserve, Gloucester. This area provides a large green space for the local community and wildlife. As part of a regenerative scheme cows have been allowed to roam onsite. These cows are used to manage the landscape and maintain biodiversity. This is achieved by grazing on invasive species, trampling biomass into thatch and returning unused nutrients back to the soil.
